(fictional) He is succeeded in reign by his only daughter, ascending to the throne as Queen Shulamit just days after her twentieth birthday

in memory of my father, who passed away in 2010. I asked Rachel to draw Shulamit in the same colors I was wearing at the time. Writing this book was in some ways my healing process.

(fictional)

Today, the Kingdom of Perach mourns the loss of its king, Noach ben Avram, the victim of a tragic accident upon his return from abroad. His seventeen-year reign has left our beloved country in prosperity, and while the decisions he handed down from his throne were not universally welcomed, the loss of his friendly personality and eagerness to educate and communicate with his subjects will be felt by all. He is succeeded in reign by his only daughter, ascending to the throne as Queen Shulamit just days after her twentieth birthday. She is sitting shivah in the palace courtyard; all visitors will be screened by the Royal Guard.

Characters by Shira Glassman; art by Rachel Matz. Read about Shulamit’s journey in the novel The Second Mangoavailable from Prizm Books and Amazon Kindle as eBooks, and in print pre-ordered from Wild Iris Books.
