I’m interested in hearing from women

…who feel that sexism has contributed to their food allergies being dismissed, mocked, assumed to be a ploy for attention, hypochondria, or in any other way treated with unwarranted skepticism.

thesecondmango185This is in relation to my novel The Second Mango, in which a young woman who’s gluten-intolerant and allergic to chicken can’t get anyone to respect her allergies–except for a select few. This is not a problem that starts and stops with fictional characters; it happens all the time in the real world and I want to bring some attention to it.

    hmm … I think that many if not most doctor-patient interactions are tinged by sexism. It takes a trully exceptional doctor to realize this and to prevent it.
